Each year, the GMF sponsors an art contest for 9th – 12th grade students in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, and this year we had over 60 students enter the competition. A $400 US Savings Bond will be awarded to a student from each of the four categories: drawing, painting, photography and mixed media along with a $650 US Savings Bond, which was awarded to one student for Best in Show. This year, Peter Doroshenko (Director of the Dallas Contemporary) is our judge for the contest. Stop by our space where all the students’ work will be on display through May 14th. This day will also be the closing reception and award ceremony (2-4pm). To start off the reception, we will have an ice cream truck, popcorn machine, lemonade stand and a live musical performance by local talents “Critic Feed,” which will be followed by the award ceremony with a special guest speaker. So stop by from now till Saturday, May 14th!
