All entries for the 2010 Student Art Contest are due this Saturday, April 10th.
This year’s contest, “Ready, Set, Go!” requires students to exercise and stretch their creative muscles. Each contestant must choose an action verb and then create an abstract piece of artwork that represents, describes, or illustrates that verb (without the use of text) using one of the following media: photography, painting or drawing. Judges will be looking for creativity, technique and execution, as well as how effectively the artwork represents the chosen verb. For more info on how to enter, click here.
Because we are moving to a new location at the end of the month (details soon to be announced!), this year the student art contest and awards reception will be held at Pop Up 310 (www.popup310.com). Pop Up 310 is a new and exciting addition to the Dallas art scene run by our very own associate curator, James Cope. The gallery is located in the West Village at 3699 McKinney Avenue, Suite 310. The awards ceremony will be held on Saturday, April 24th from 2 – 4pm.
