The Goss-Michael Foundation is delighted to announce a collaboration with British fashion house Mother of Pearl via the opening of a pop-up “MoP SHoP” at The Foundation headquarters on Turtle Creek Boulevard in Dallas. This is the first showing of the collection in the United States.
Opening to the public on June 23, the MoP SHoP will feature items from the Spring/Summer2011 collection. Each season, Mother of Pearl brings art and fashion together by working with contemporary visual artists to combine sports inspired silhouettes with luxurious fabrics and iconic prints.
Mother of Pearl Creative Director Maia Norman, (Damien Hirst’s partner) was in attendance at the grand opening. She was an honored guest at a private invitation-only reception the evening prior to the opening.
MoP SHoP will be open during the Foundation’s hours and the collection will remain in Dallas through September 3.
Ms. Norman works with acclaimed artists to produce exclusive prints from existing artworks. These prints become the foundation for each season’s collection. The most recent MoP Spring/Summer 2011 collection feature works by renowned British artist Jim Lambie. He is currently the featured artist in an exhibition at The Foundation and has transformed the front gallery with Zobop, one of his famous floor pieces.
Known for his colorful installations, Lambie’s contribution to the fashion world includes retro floral prints and a surreal all-seeing eye. His images are included in pieces ranging from silk blouses and shorts to jumpsuits and slouchy trousers.
