I took a trip to Houston for research on Museum’s and Foundations to prepare for the opening of our new building.
There is a lot going on in Houston and the highlight of my trip was visiting the Menil Collection and seeing the Maurizio Cattelan exhibition.
The Menil was built by Renzo Piano who designed the Nasher Sculpture Center in Dallas. In fact Mr. Nasher met Renzo Piano at the opening of the Beyeler Foundatin in Basel which he also designed after Ernst Beyeler visited the Menil and was so taken by the building. Mr. Nasher commissioned Renzo Piano to then design the Nahser Sculpture Center.
The exhibition focuses on the artist’s recent sculptures in a new presentation interacting with works from the Menil Collection.
The Maurizio Cattelan exhibition will run until August 15 so only a few days left. I highly recommend everybody checking out his work!

The Menil is one of my number 1 places in Texas to visit.
